Hello, 2024!
Hard to believe we're diving into another year already, right? For me, once the whirlwind of holiday photo sessions winds down, it's full-on planning mode for the year ahead. It's the time for choosing backdrops, scheduling mini sessions, and setting my goals for 2024.
All the backdrops are sorted now. Interestingly, one mysteriously appeared in my collection—I think I might've ordered it in my sleep! Nonetheless, it's beautiful and perfect for Grandparents and Me mini sessions. But backdrops weren't the only things I added to spruce up the mini sessions. I've also acquired a stunning, long-sleeve green gown for Mommy & Me sessions, and possibly another super dramatic gown. What do you think? Do you love the dramatic gowns or the simple gowns?
Speaking of mini sessions, I've got seven lined up this year. Here they are:
- Easter Mini Session: March 23
- Mommy & Me Mini Session: May 4 (sells out fast!)
- Daddy & Me Mini Session: June 8
- Grandparents & Me Mini Session: August 17
- Glitter Mini Session: September 28
- Halloween Mini Session: October 26 (benefiting the Center for Children & Families, like last year)
- Mrs. Claus Mini Session: December 14
Save the date: All sessions, except for Halloween, will be released on February 19, 2024.
Now, my goals for this year are a tad more ambitious than before, but I'm up for the challenge! First off, I'm aiming to blog more—although it's a bit daunting because, let's be real, I speak through photos better than words. Then there's my challenge to capture my family moments with my camera, not just my phone. Expect a weekly social media post documenting these moments. If I don't post a weekly photo on social media by Saturday, please give me a nudge. This will be my 52-click project—a way to see everyday moments differently and expand my photography skills.
Moreover, I would like to partner with local business around Norman for photo shoots. For example, a family session inside a local bookstore, a maternity session inside a local hair salon, or a milestone session inside a candy store. If you own a business and would like to partner please contact me. Let's build community in Norman through art!
The final big goal is to bring to life the amazing photo ideas that have been floating in my head for ages. Take a peek at my wishlist below. If you're interested in any of these sessions, they're free! The only catch is you've gotta be cool with the images being shared on social media (and maybe my website too). Of course, weather in Oklahoma is always a factor, so fingers crossed!
